30 Days of Meme: Day 30 → Whatever tickles your fancy
Awwww, I'm done with the meme! Twas good times.
This is tickling my fancy cos it's so ridiculous. Neil Diamond covers Adam Sandler's "Chanukah Song!"
( Recap of all the days! )
I've determined that all my neighbors in my apartment complex are BATSHIT INSANE. If it's not the next-door dude and his awful death metal music, it's the psychos upstairs who have SHOPPING CART RACES in the middle of the week at like 1 a.m. and stomp around like rhinos. (Not to mention that I can perfectly hear whenever people are fornicating, guhhhhh. If I'm not getting any, NO ONE should be getting any, LOL.) My mom's coming to visit this weekend, and she keeps saying that she's going to knock on my neighbors' doors, and when they open, she's just going to punch them in the face. HEHEHEHE, I love my mom.
I do not love my subconscious. I had a very involved dream last night that I only remember snippets of: being the star of some Lifetime movie about teen pregnancy, attempting to shop at the mall only to be shot at by military dudes claiming to be protecting patrons from a bomb threat (so I sassed one of the troops, asking if his gun made him feel like he had a big dick, and then I flew away, haha) and going to a restaurant where their claim to fame was PUPPY PROSCIUTTO :(
On the bright side, Greg Grunberg was BRILLIANT last night on Loveline. He ranks up there with David Allen Grier as their funniest guest. Between "creamy Grunny love" and "save the clitoris, save the world," I will never look at Matt Parkman the same way again, hahahahahaha.
Secret Santa Holiday Love Meme///MINE!
Hope you guys don't mind me being a little selfish. :)
Not much to report here, outside of my daily dalliances of memes, and an earlier bout of frustration at work since remedied by lunch with my coworker at Hamburger Habit. The future of this predicts seeing Sea Wolf in concert tomorrow, a visit to the Cha Cha Lounge for Norma's birthdizzle; mom's coming to visit me this weekend; I'm going to visit Ames at her new apartment; and there's a secret Santa exchange brewing at Jandy's. Phew. Holidays ahoy!
30 Days of Meme: Day 29 → Hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days
I don't yet have my official resolutions squared away yet, but I know they will include smiling more. Life is fooking aces, and for some reason, I tend not to wear that elation on my face. Smile more at strangers. For what are they going to do? Glare at you? Their loss if they do.
I want to repay my mum for being so generous this year, especially with the New York trip. I want to take her to her mom's home country, Hungary.
Dreams ... I think this is the year I actually pitch to Rolling Stone. Nothing is stopping me. I also hope this will be the year I interview a Beatle (I've been further talking with Ringo's publicist, and should get the final yes/no on the interview this week! Wish me luck!) I hope to see Muse in concert again (I might go to Phoenix with
misssaigonpinay in April for a gig). I hope our band flourishes and we begin to write our own material, and we get a drummer and we start playing shows around SoCal.
Mostly, I hope to stop being so selfish. Call old friends more often. Volunteer, maybe become a Big Sister. Don't put up a fuss at work and contribute more rather than complain about the status quo. "Be excellent to each other!"

30 Days of Meme: Day 28 → This year, in great detail
Kicked off 2009 at Michele's party with friendly friends and splendid times all around! Suffered from a raging hangover the next day, so much so that I didn't even go outside to watch the Rose Parade. Suffered from SAD through February.
Joined the writing staff of SmashingPumpkins.com and subsequently talked with Billy Corgan and his merry crew in person a few times (also meeting Dave Navarro and Perry Ferrell!) Other interviews this year included Melissa Joan Hart, Copeland, Amy Lee of Evanescence, The Bangles, Sea Wolf (at the singer's teensy, folksy home), Joe Sib of Wax/SideOneDummy.
SxSW happened! It was incredible. Hung out with the lovely Euro gals Emma, Tam and Kate. Met for the second time James Iha and Melissa Auf der Maur, as well as Exene Cervenka! Other travels included Vegas to meet
secondstar and NYC to catch up with old chums, see "Hair" - where I met Kristen Schaal from "Flight of the Conchords" - and show mom the big city!
Birthday in April was karaoke-rific, then brought my posse to favorite hangout the Griffin. COACHELLA AND PAUL MCCARTNEY (best concert EVER!!!) So so so many other amazing shows this year: Green Day (TWICE!), Weezer (TWICE!), Get Up Kids, Friendly Fires, Ladytron/the Faint where I met ADRIAN GRENIER. Thursday. MONSTERS OF FOLK. FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS. Tons more I can't remember now.
Menz times were LOLzy. Most of which aren't appropriate to discuss outside of an f-lock (and probably not online at all). I guess if you're curious, you can shoot me a PM.
The greatest hits of 2009: I moved into my own apartment on da west syde! I stopped drinking/other imbibing (five-plus months sober and clean)! I MET ZACHARY FUCKING QUINTO at a hipster bar! I'M IN A BAND NOW. IT'S ALL HAPPENING.
Yep. 2009 wins for best year ever. :)

Dear 'Most Amazing Band That Has Roamed the Planet' Muse,
I am most displeased with your recent tour schedule. Why must you torture me by not visiting the Land of Cleve? It is a good land, and has an abundance of more than suitable venues in which you may perform. Many a fanatic would come from all corners of Ohio to see your glorious band. I mean come on, Nashville? Leave them with their honky tonk. You could have at least gone somewhere close to my preciouseses
quidditchkiss and
secondstar so we could fulfill our dream of seeing you together. Come on guys. Get it together. Come to the home of the Rock Hall! I NEED MY MUSE!!!!!
Lovingly,
Krystal

30 Days of Meme: Day 27 → This month, in great detail
Heh, pretty much refer back to the "your day and week in great detail" entries. But also, the shenanigans of this weekend included being Tardy to the Party (aka a neato loft party thrown by and in honor of
bipjeffington's birthday), complete with lots of friendly friends and meeting a quite nice bloke named Marko, and keeping warm despite the rain. Saturday, I slept a fuckton and got scared cos I thought someone was trying to break in, but it was carpenters looking for the wrong apartment, haha. Drove with
misssaigonpinay down to
jasonishibashi's birthday party, which consisted of HUGE CANNONS and marshmallows and other lovely inside jokes and tons of yummy food made by
seishinbunseki! Sunday, I hung out with Lauren for a bit, then Jacob came over and helped me decorate my apartment for the holiday and to make it more homely AND he fixed my computer! I continued my "30 Rock" marathons and realized just how Liz Lemony I am (for better or for worse, haha). Went grocery shopping at Trader Joe's and humored a bag boy with my clock purse. Also reread one of my diaries from 2006. Yep, I'm definitely happier these days.
Today, I worked. On my lunch break, I went to the bank for laundry money and received in the bunch a defaced fiver that drew Lincoln as a punk with an orange mohawk. :) Got Starbucks with my gift card, and tried a white chocolate peppermint mocha. Hmmmm, holidays.
( The remains of the day(s) )

I just watched the Dexter finale.
O_o
This season was almost as good as Season 1, and that is saying A LOT.
Wow.
So, I've been considering this for awhile now because of how obsessed I've become with Glee. (Despite my intense, intense dislike of Emma/Will, sorry fans. Or really, Will/anyone.) So here are my top 5 Glee performances! Unfortunately I can't seem to find actual Youtube Clips of the performance so you know, some of these clips don't have the real song, just talking about the peformance.
( Sarah's Glee Top 5! )
lovebit also has an amazing post about her favorite performances, with many awesome pictures that I am too lazy to do. I advise you to check it out.
I received several Christmas cards today in the mail. Made my somewhat dreary, sickish day better. Thank you
secondstar,
quidditchkiss, , , and
iolausian.
There's a story on the news about a man robbing a bank with a bomb strapped to himself. When he's caught, he says he's an innocent victim. Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

HELLO FRIENDS. This is not an update. Not a proper one, anyway.
As we approach Christmas, we're getting more and more one-time shoppers at The Body Shop, and I'm learning more and more about the products. Even if you don't consider yourself to be a make-up/body care person, if you could fill this out, it would be a great help to me! I'm not on the floor a lot, so knowing other peoples' opinions may help. In any case, I'm curious.
Here are my answers, to give you an idea.
1. Do you consider yourself to be a make up / fragrance / body care person? Yes!
If YES:
2. What are your primary reasons for using make up / fragrances / body care products? Looking and smelling nice, basically. And hygiene, in some cases. (Deodorants and face washes.) I only use them for special occasions though-- I'm not an every day user of make-up, with the exception of going to work, where I'm required by the terms of my employment to wear their make-up whilst in-store.
3. Do you have a regular brand/store you go to, or does it change? If it changes, what does it depend on? I've never been able to decide on a particular make-up brand, so I switch between them pretty regularly depending on what effect I'm going for on any given day. I'm fairly loyal to The Body Shop when it comes to fragrances and bath products, however, and I stick to the Dermatologica range for my face wash products, since they seem to be working. (Before that it was Clairns, and before that Proactiv. I've never found a regular pharmacy-bought cleanser that helped my skin in any way.)
4. Have you ever bought anything from The Body Shop for yourself before? If not, would you ever consider it? If so, can you remember what you bought and what your opinion of it was? Would you buy from there again? Considering I work there, I think it would be a little unfair for me to list everything ... but most recently I bought a set of five coloured eyeliner pencils for $40 (bronze, silver, blue, purple and green). I'm very happy with it so far! It was the second one left in our shop, which is not surprising since at that price it's totally a steal.
5. What type of products do you most frequently use/buy? Feel free to mention reasons if you wish. I already covered brands above. In regards to make-up, I most frequently use foundation, lip gloss and eye liner. I'm not always fussed with eyeshadow or concealer, I rarely use lipstick and I never use blush or bronzer because my complexion is very pink already. I so infrequently use mascara (since I have very dark eyelashes anyway) that I completely forgot to add it in here the first time. I rarely use fragrances unless I'm working, but I'm starting to change that. I use my face cleanser + moisturizer every day, as well as hand cream, since I get very dry hands. I guess I do use scented moisturizer though, so that counts as a fragrance. I don't really have any special bath products apart from just plain SOAP and a squeegee, and I don't think I'd use them if I did. The milk bath and the bubble bath look fun, though. For people who, you know, have the time to take a long bath :x.
6. Do you prefer scented or unscented products? Why or why not? If scented, what scents have you tried that stuck out in your mind, either positively or negatively? I love almost all the food scents that I can think of in the Body Shop, with the exception of the Papaya and the Pink Grapefruit. Strawberry and Mango are my two favourite fruit scents, Japanese Cherry Blossom is my favourite flower scent, and the Shea is my favourite nut one. Unsurprisingly, these are also our top selling products from each of those ranges. I'm not such a great fan of flowery scents overall, though, especially in more expensive perfumes, as I find them a little too heavy for my taste. Moroccan Rose and Cranberry are two scents that stick out negatively in my mind.
7. Is there any ingredient commonly found in make up / fragrances / body care products that you're allergic to? If so, how do you get around this? Nope.
8. Is there any product that you often find yourself thinking you'd like to try but you've just never gotten around to? I'd like to experiment with some white eyeliner at some point in the future, I hear it's useful for the inner lower lid, and I hear seaweed based products are really good for combination skin. (FTR: tea tree for oily skin, aloe for sensitive skin and vitamin E for dry skin.) There are some oil-balancing foundation products out there too, which I'd be interested in trying but haven't been bothered yet. I also hear mineral make-up is really good for your skin, but the last time I tried it I had a break-out, so I'm not sure what's going on there. I'd also like to try some of the nail & cuticle treatments I've heard of but I never have enough money to justify spending it on them.
9. Did you know that The Body Shop supports Fair Trade and promotes charities with most products they sell? Would knowing this actually make a difference in regards to your desire to buy from them? Yes and not really, since I already ... do ... buy from them ...
10. Feel free to make any other notes here. N/A
